Krissy Zechmann

MSW, LIMHP, LICSW, LISW

 

Krissy's goal in therapy is to meet individuals where they present with a caring, supportive, and non-judgmental approach. She is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Master Social Worker in Nebraska. She is also a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Iowa. Krissy graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa.

For the past 17 years, Krissy has enjoyed working with individuals and families in a variety of social work and mental health settings. Her previous experience includes outpatient mental health therapy, child welfare services, hospice social work, and most recently, school based mental health serving within Millard Public Schools District.

Krissy has expertise in assisting individuals and families in management of symptoms related to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, behavioral issues, environmental stressors, and major life changes. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults while providing individualized treatment to all patients.

Further, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working with people who are faced with difficult end of life related issues.  She understands grief and loss and is passionate about walking with those who are terminally ill and those who have a loved one who is nearing the end stages of life. Krissy knows that loss comes in many forms over a lifetime and encourages those who are struggling to seek support.

Krissy understands that the development of trust and rapport is crucial in the therapy process. She believes that everyone deserves dignity and respect and she strives to provide that to every person she works with. Her goal in therapy is guide those in the healing process while teaching effective ways to manage symptoms, stressors, and conflicts in life.
